The 'Color Profile' dialog box

Note: Allplan GmbH does not provide color profiles for printers. It is up to you to purchase the color profiles you need for a specific printer, paper, ink and so on. Please contact the manufacturer of your printer or visit the website. Color correction is very complicated as there are various factors influencing colors and, as everyone knows, tastes differ. Consequently, the results vary depending on the settings you make. You should take time to experiment with color profiles to achieve the best possible results. In Allplan, you can use color profiles that are in compliance with the International Color Consortium (ICC) standard.

Add profile

This is where you can associate an ICM color profile with an Allplan raster driver. The Allplan raster driver can be associated with more than one ICM profile. This makes it easier to switch between profiles after you have selected a different type of paper, for example.

ICM color profiles which are to be used for printing have to meet the following requirements:

The system checks these properties and issues warnings, if necessary.

Remove profile

You can remove the connection between an ICM color profile and a raster driver. The color profile itself is not affected.

Set to current

You can activate the associated ICM color profile for use.

Priority for rendering

Select a priority for rendering. This setting describes the type of the document to be printed.

The following ICC render priorities are available:

Priority

ICC Name

Meaning

Perception

Perception (image)

Color contrast is retained. Used for photos.

Saturation

Saturation (graphics)

Color saturation is retained. Used for business charts and images with few halftones.

Proof

Relatively colorimetric

Colorimetry is retained. Used for graphic design.

Match

Absolutely colorimetric

White is retained. The most suitable color is selected.

Transfer print data

You can check the ICM-corrected format of data sent.

The Allplan raster driver usually uses the color space of the ICM printer profile to send the data to the printer. In most cases, this is CMYK. If a device is not able to process CMYK, the data is automatically converted to RGB.

If a device that is normally able to process CMYK data still has problems with this format, the data can be transferred in RGB format. However, the resulting colors will differ more or less.
