Using very large and local coordinates at the same time

Importing files with large coordinates

If you use files with coordinates in the Gauss-Krüger or UTM coordinate system (which need to be imported using offsets) and files with local coordinates (which can be imported without offsets) at the same time, the following approach is useful:

  1. Specify the appropriate GK or UTM coordinate offsets in the project's properties.
  2. Import the GK or UTM files, e.g. a site plan (the offset is applied).
  3. Deactivate the offset in the project's properties. (However, the values themselves must be retained.)
  4. Import the files with the local coordinates.
  5. Work while the offset is deactivated.

Note: Prior to exporting the contents of your document, you have to activate the offset again in the project's properties so that the original GK coordinates are transferred to your data exchange partner, for example.
