Exporting data with the ‘Multilayout‘ option

When you export several Allplan layouts using the Multilayout option, each Allplan layout becomes a separate layout in AutoCAD’s paper space. Drawing files or NDW-format files placed as layout elements are exported as DWG or DXF files to AutoCAD’s model space.

Take note of the Layer name based on layout element option in the AutoCAD specific tab.

When the Layer name based on layout element option is active (this is the default setting), layer names are automatically given a prefix XR$1, where 1 represents a number which will increase with each layout element.

When this option is disabled, the layers are exported with their full or abbreviated layer names. However, this means that elements that are in different drawing files but on the same layers in Allplan are displayed together in AutoCAD. An example: you have created the ground floor and the first upper floor in different drawing files but on the same layers, and you have placed these drawing files beside each other in the layout. When you export this layout to AutoCAD, the two floors will be displayed on top of one another in one viewport.

Example: you are exporting layouts 10 and 20. All the elements are on the Default layer.
