Assigning blocks to smart symbols during import

When you import blocks from AutoCAD, you can directly assign smart Allplan symbols.

You need to do the following:

1. Specify the catalog from which the smart symbols are to be taken in the Import and export options (Allplan).

   Note: As smart symbols in subfolders are not taken into account, you need to explicitly select the folder with the smart symbols.

2. Select the Use smart symbol catalog option in the Allplan specific tab of the Interfaces Options (ODX).

3. When importing, you can assign a smart symbol from the selected catalog to a block in the AutoCAD file.

Notes

• The preview always displays the first smart symbol foil; however, the smart symbol is always created with all its foils.
• In the assignment tables, the program adds ‘From catalog’ to smart symbols taken from the catalog.
