Legend, title block

You can use the Legend, Title Block tool to create legends with the current layout and project attributes.
The program always creates the legends as associative legends to make sure that changes in the attributes update automatically. After having placed a legend, you can resolve it into its design entities.

To create a legend in a layout

1. Click Legend, Title Block (How).
   

   Activate Legend, Title Block in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Layout

   • Toolbar: Basic Tools Layout flyout
   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Layout

2. Select the folder, subfolder and name of the legend.
   Subfolder: 7 Layout legends
3. Place the associative legend in the layout.
4. As long as legends are associative, you can edit them using the shortcut menu. The following options are available:
   • Use the Update Label tool to include any changes you have made.
   • You can resize a legend by clicking in the workspace or entering a factor in the dialog line.
   • You can explode a legend into design entities. All the elements are given the same group number so that you can quickly and easily select and edit the exploded legend in its entirety.
     

Note: Using the Set Up Page tool, you can select a layout border and/or a layout legend as fixed properties of the page. The layout border matches the size of the page. For the layout legend, you can specify the distance from the layout border. When you change the page, the size of the layout border and the position of the layout legend adapt automatically.
