Using resources in NDW files

Resources used in NDW-format files are saved directly in the relevant document; in other words, NDW-format files always look the same, regardless of how the resources are defined in the project or office standard.

The following resources are saved in NDW-format files:

A resource is only saved in a NDW-format file when you draw an element that uses the relevant resource; in other words, a NDW file only contains the resources that are actually used.

You can use the Clear resources tool on the Tools menu, Defaults, to display and delete resources that are saved in the NDW file but no longer used.

When you draw in a NDW-format file, all the resources that come with Allplan are provided. In addition, the resources defined in the office or project and the resources you have saved in the NDW file are available. When you edit resources using Tools - Defaults, only the resources that actually exist in the NDW file in question are presented.

Tip: When creating a new NDW file, you can use a template for new NDW-format files. This way, the NDW file already contains predefined resource when you open it.
