Placing a link to a bitmap

You can use this tool to place a link to a bitmap. The bitmap itself is not saved in the drawing file; there is only a link to the bitmap. The link is represented by a button. Clicking this button while keeping the CTRL key pressed down displays the bitmap.

Note: Place links to files that are directly in the current project folder. Do not use subfolders in the project folder. These links are always valid, even if the path name changes (for example, when you copy a project or change the configuration).

To place a link to a bitmap

1. Click Link (How).
   

   Activate Link in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Insert

   • Toolbar: Standard
2. Click Bitmap link.
3. In the dialog box, select the file you want to link to.
4. Enter the aspect ratio and place the link.
5. Use one of the following methods to define the angle at which the link is placed:
   • Enter the angle in the dialog line and press enter to confirm.
   • Specify the direction point with the mouse.

Note: To change a link you have already placed, double-click the link or click it with the right mouse button and choose Properties on the shortcut menu. The Properties palette also displays the link and you can change it there.
