Blanking on/off

You can use the Blanking on/off tool to enable/disable blanking mode. When you activate this function, lines connecting point symbols are not displayed around the point symbols. Blanking is a property of the line that means that the tool has to be active when you draw the line.
Example

The sequence in which elements are drawn is irrelevant: whether you start by creating the lines or the point symbols is entirely up to you.

To enable blanking

• Click Blanking on/off (How).
  

  Activate Blanking on/off in one of the following ways

  • Menu bar: Format

  • Toolbar: Special

Note: You should only apply blanking to point symbols that have been assigned a fixed radius. These are generally points with circular symbols.

Tip: Point symbols placed using the Point Symbol tool are automatically joined up with a line when the Polyline option is activated.
