Rotated plan view

You can use the Rotated Plan View tool to rotate the contents of the screen around their center point. This tool only affects the display; all coordinates are retained. Positive angles are measured in a counter-clockwise direction. It is a good idea to use this tool if you want to edit an inclined floor plan, for example. To return to the original display, all you need to do is activate this tool again and set the angle back to 0 degrees.

This tool only applies to plan view and to the current viewport. Rotating the screen contents changes the system angle. If, for example, you are rotating the plan view by 45 degrees, the system angle is set to -45 degrees. Please note that the system angle is a global setting, i.e. it changes in all the viewports. If, for example, you use Previous View to restore the original view or select a predefined arrangement or click Save, Load View to load a rotated section you saved previously, the system angle will not be reset to its original value.

When you create text in rotated plan view, its direction depends on the setting for Consider system angle in the Text module's Options:

Note: If you want to work with the rotated plan view in each viewport throughout a project, you can specify a Project angle for rotated plan view in the Project Settings dialog box.
