Copying and placing instances of smart symbols or SmartParts

You can copy an instance of a smart symbol or a SmartPart and place it in the workspace by double-clicking it with the right mouse button. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut menu.

To copy a SmartPart using the shortcut menu

  1. Click the SmartPart with the right mouse button.
  2. Click SmartPart on the shortcut menu.

    A copy of the SmartPart is attached to the crosshairs.

  3. Place the SmartPart in the workspace.
    A number of tools are provided in the Input options to help you do this.

To copy a smart symbol or SmartPart by double-clicking

  1. Click the smart symbol or SmartPart with the right mouse button.

    A copy of smart symbol or SmartPart is attached to the crosshairs.

  2. Place the smart symbol or SmartPart in the workspace.
    A number of tools are provided in the Input options to help you do this.

    Note: If the selected element is assigned a layer that is visible, frozen, the layer status is set to Current.

    Note: Depending on the Behavior when double-clicking the right mouse button setting in the Options - Desktop environment - Mouse and crosshairs page - Mouse area, the settings transferred to the Format toolbar are reset to their previous state after the element has been created.
