Transferring data to Allplan Precast

You can always import Allplan drawing files into a Precast version. Conversely, you are not advised to import drawing files from a Precast version into an Allplan version as the required catalogs are not installed, which causes problems when you modify data.

Precast drawing files are only upwardly compatible. You can thus do the following:

• Drawing files from Allplan Precast 2008 can be imported into Allplan Precast Edition 2010 and Allplan Precast 2012.
• Drawing files from Allplan Precast Edition 2010 can be imported into Allplan Precast 2012.
• Drawing files from Allplan 2008 and Allplan 2009 can be imported into Allplan Precast 2008, Allplan Precast Edition 2010 and Allplan Precast 2012.
• Drawing files from Allplan 2011 and Allplan 2012 can be imported into Allplan Precast 2012.

Note: Before you can import Allplan drawing files of later versions (for example, 2011) into earlier Precast versions (for example, 2008P), you first need to convert the drawing files using the Services application of the later version.
