Basic approach

Module(s): BAMTEC

To define the carpet outline

The first step involves defining the carpet outline, that is, its outer dimensions. When making definitions, please bear in mind that the number of carpets should be kept to a minimum.
Basic rules applying to lap joints:

If possible, you should always use the same bearing length so that the carpets can easily be placed on the building site. As a rule, a value of 15 cm is sufficient for slabs in normal residential buildings. The distance of the first bar parallel to the wall should not exceed 10 cm. The offset from the edge to recesses and openings should not exceed 5 cm. if necessary, additional reinforcing bars need to be placed in the placing drawing.

Carpet sizes are limited by maximum weight and maximum size considerations. If possible, rectangular outlines should always be used. To facilitate easy handling, the weight should be distributed evenly across the carpet.

Separate and reinforce

In the next step, all the carpets are separated (copied) onto one drawing file each and fully- or semi-automatically reinforced.

By definition, all the bars in one drawing file represent one carpet. If necessary, you can thus insert additional reinforcement.

The results are checked and, if necessary, manually altered.

Plans, schedules and files

The placing drawings and general drawings for the checking structural engineer are printed together with all the assembly drawings.

Reinforcement schedules can be generated automatically.

The carpet files are created and transferred to the carpet manufacturer.
