Rearranging marks

Module(s): Bar Reinforcement + Mesh Reinforcement + BAMTEC

You can use the Rearrange Marks tool to reassign mark numbers in the active drawing files or NDW file according to criteria you specify. You can exclude marks that have already been rearranged from this operation. You can also combine marks that have the same shape and cross section. Meshes and reinforcement can be rearranged in a single operation.

Note: If you have specified that meshes of different length get the same mark number when you placed meshes using the Place Mesh Shape tool, this setting is retained when you rearrange marks.

Note: Marks that have the same shape and cross-section but different layers cannot be combined if they are in the same document. If, on the other hand, these marks are in different drawing files, you can combine them. The different layers are retained.

To selectively rearrange marks

1. Click Rearrange Marks (How).
   

   Activate Rearrange Marks in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Engineering Bar Reinforcement/Mesh Reinforcement/BAMTEC

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Bar Reinforcement

   Mesh Reinforcement

   BAMTEC

   • Configuration: Engineering Engineering Modify flyout
2. You can renumber the marks in all the drawing files open in edit or active mode or in the NDW file according to different criteria:
   • Enable Lock to exclude bars that have already been rearranged from the current renumbering operation.
   • Click Identical Shapes to combine marks with the same shape and cross-section under a single mark number.
   • Click Meshes to rearrange meshes or to exclude them from the renumbering operation.
   • Click Rebars to rearrange reinforcing bar items or to exclude them from the renumbering operation.
   • Click Start# to enter the number of the mark at which to start rearranging and renumbering.
   • Click Last# to enter the number of the mark at which rearranging and renumbering is to end.
   • Click after to enter the first mark number to be considered.
     The largest possible mark number is 9999.
