Importing XML files with a building structure

Using Content

Program: Allplan 2015

You can save various Allplan settings in XML files. This guide shows how to import XML files containing a building structure and plane models. For other XML files, please refer to the file description.

To import XML files with a building structure

  1. Download the file.
  2. Decompress the file and save it in any folder on your computer.

Tip: A building structure with plane models consists of several XML files that belong together. You should therefore use a separate folder for each building structure.

  3. Start Allplan 2015.
  4. Open the project that is to have the building structure.
  5. Click Open on a Project-Specific Basis and select the Building structure tab.

    The Allplan dialog box opens.

  6. Choose the Select predefined building structure option and click OK.
  7. Select the folder where the files of the building structure are saved and click OK.

The new building structure is loaded immediately.

Saving the current status of the building structure

The current status of the building structure and of the objects derived from the building structure can be saved separately (depending on where you select this tool). The settings are saved on a user-specific and project-specific basis in a XML-format file in the BIM\user\settings folder.

Save: saves the current status of the building structure in a project-specific manner in the Allplan_BIM_BuildingStructure.xml file and the current drawing file status in the Structure_Settings.xml file.

Save: saves the current status of the objects derived from the building structure in a project-specific manner in the Allplan_BIM_Views.xml file and the current drawing file status in the View_Settings.xml file.
