Importing NID files

Using content

Program: Allplan 2015

An NID (Nemetschek Internet Document) file contains a complete layout. You can choose to include all the resources (line types, hatching styles etc.) in the file. This way, you can quickly and easily exchange data with partner offices, for example.

When the file is imported, a new project is created. This is to prevent any data in the current project from being overwritten.

To import an NID (Nemetschek Internet Document) file

  1. Download the file.
  2. Decompress the file and save it in any folder on your computer.
  3. Start Allplan 2015.
  4. Click Layout Editor (How) on the Default toolbar or File menu.
  5. Click Import NID File.
  6. Select the file you want to import. Any information supplied with the file is now displayed - comments, bitmap, date etc..

Note: The date indicates whether you have included the resources (line types, hatching styles etc.) when you created the NID file.

  7. Import operations are always performed in a new NID project. This is to avoid the risk of data in the current project being overwritten.
  8. The new NID project name is based on the name of the original project. For example

    TownHall (NID 4.0)

    (NID project name)

    The name consequently indicates

  9. Click OK to automatically create or update the NID project and to import the file.

Exporting NID files

You can use the Export NID File tool to compress an entire layout into an NID (Nemetschek Internet Document) file. This type of file is a convenient way of exchanging data (with a partner office, for example).
