Importing SYM files

SYM files contain individual Allplan symbols.

To import SYM files

1. Download the file.
2. Decompress the file and save it in any folder on your computer.

   Tip: It makes sense to use the same folder for data of the same format.

3. Start Allplan 2015.
4. Open the Symbols library in one of the following ways:
   • Select the Library palette and open the Symbols folder.
5. Open the Symbol file folder or an appropriate subfolder.
6. Select a symbol file (*.sym)
7. Double-click the preview or drag the smart symbol into the workspace.
8. Place the symbol.
   A number of tools are provided in the input options to help you do this.

Saving and exporting SYM files

You can save individual symbol files (*.sym) in the Symbol file folder of the Symbols library. You can use Save Copy as... to save the contents of the current drawing file as a symbol file (*.sym).
