Modifying artificial lighting

Tool(s): Set Light for Project

You can change the parameters of a light source (except the Type of light) later, allowing you to adjust lighting at any time.

Note: If you want to change the type of light of a light source, delete the light source and place a new one with the type of light you need.

To modify an artificial light source

1. Click Set Light for Project (How).
   

   Activate Set Light for Project in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Change Presentation Animation

   • Toolbar: Change
   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Animation

   • Shortcut menu: Navigation Mode selected - Right mouse button

   The Light palette opens.

2. The Project light area lists all the light sources defined for the project. Click the light source you want to change.

   The Light source palette displays the current parameters of the light source. In the viewports, you can see that the light source appears in selection color.

   You can change the position of the light source as follows:

   • In the Type of light area, enter the coordinates for the Light source.
   • Click the Select button beside Light source. Then click a point in the viewport.
   • Click Move light (at the bottom of the palette) and move the light source "from point" - "to point".

   You can change the orientation of the light source using the Light target (only for the Spotlight, Conical light and Area types of light) as follows:

   • In the Type of light area, enter the coordinates for the Light target.
   • Click the Select button beside Light target. Then click a point in the viewport.
   • Click Rotate light (at the bottom of the palette) and turn the light source as you need.

   Change the other parameters in the Light properties, Shadow properties and Edit areas as you need.

3. Click OK to confirm the new light source settings.

   The Light palette opens again.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to change more lights.

   Press ESC to quit the tool.
