Steps

Context toolbar for defining a stair’s line of travel and geometry

When you have defined the outline of the stair, you can use the Steps parameter to specify the number of steps.

The number of steps is derived from the automatic optimization of the tread-to-riser ratio (2R+T).

You can, however, enter any number of steps up to 90.

If you enter 0 or click Opti, the values for rise, tread and number of steps are derived automatically from the optimization of the tread-to-riser ratio.

Note: The Steps setting is based on the number of stair components and not just the number of rises in a stair. For example, a landing is considered to be a ‘step’.
