Rise

Context toolbar for defining a stair’s line of travel and geometry

When you have defined the outline of the stair, you can use the Rise parameter to specify the rise of steps.

Since the number of steps remains constant, the values for the height of the bottom (H Bt) of the stair and the tread-to-riser ratio (2R+T) are adjusted accordingly. The height of the top of the component is calculated according to the formula:
Top height = Bottom height + (Number of steps – number of landings) * Rise

(A) Rise

If you do enter a value here, the rise is regarded as fixed. This means:
Top Hgt = Rise * Steps + Bottom Hgt

However, if you click Free or enter 0, the rise is no longer fixed and the stair is adjusted to suit the values specified for the height of the top and bottom of the stair.
