Section in plan

Module(s): Stairs

You can use the Section in Plan tool to create a section of a stair in plan view.

To create a section of a stair in plan

1. Click Section in Plan (How).
   

   Activate Section in Plan in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Architecture Stairs

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Stairs

   • Configuration: Architecture Stairs flyout
2. Click the stair’s line of travel.
3. Click and enter parameters.
   Click OK to confirm the settings.
4. Click Offset to set the offset between the lines used to represent the clipping path.
5. Define the start and end point of the clipping path.

   Note: The clipping path has to intersect the line of travel and two opposite stringers of the stair.

   

   Section in plan:
   (1) Define start point of clipping path
   (2) Define end point of clipping path

Note: This tool does not have an effect on the representation of stairs in 3D space.

Tip: Hiding the section in plan
