Catalog

Module(s): Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

You can use the Catalog tool to create or modify catalogs. These serve as the basis for the selection of materials for architectural elements.

You can find the Catalog assignment button in the Properties dialog boxes of all architectural elements. You can define whether materials are entered using custom dialog boxes that you fill out with materials as you go along, or whether you want to use custom catalogs or predefined and imported ones.

Overview of predefined/imported catalogs

To define or modify a catalog

  1. Click Catalog (How).
  2. Select the catalog you want to create or modify. The default catalogs provided with the program are kukat1 to kukat5.

Note: A catalog can consist of several hierarchic levels and catalog references. When entering hierarchic levels, you start at the top level.

  3. Click the superordinate level with the right mouse button and select CTLG Master on the shortcut menu. Start with the catalog.

  4. Enter the contents and index number of the hierarchic level, for example, the trade or wall type.

  5. Click the Catalog master level with the right mouse button and select CTLG Branch on the shortcut menu.
  6. Repeat step 5 for additional catalog branches.

Tip: To save your entries while you are defining or modifying a catalog, just click OK and open the catalog again.

  7. Click the bottom level in the hierarchy with the right mouse button and select CTLG Entry on the shortcut menu.

  8. Enter the Material name (number) and Short name.

Note: Pay attention to the correct syntax when you assign or change reference numbers for catalog entries. The numbers of the superordinate levels in the hierarchy must also be included in the reference number of an entry. You can find an example in Catalog: hierarchic levels and reference numbers.

  9. If you want, you can now define the material more precisely and assign attributes and parameters such as Thickness, Layer, Trade, Priority, Calculation mode or Surface elements for the display.
Click the catalog entry with the right mouse button and select Attributes on the shortcut menu.

The attributes and parameters you define here are preset for the material definition of the relevant component. Of course, you can change them.
