Flip Smart Opening Symbol

You can use the Flip Smart Opening Symbol tool to change the position of smart symbols and SmartParts you have already inserted in wall openings (in windows, doors, niches, recesses etc., for example). This tool is very helpful when you zoom in on a smart symbol or SmartPart and find that the direction in which the window opens is not correct. You can use this tool to correct this.

To tilt a smart window or door symbol you have already placed

1. Click Flip Smart Opening Symbol (How).
   

   Activate Turn Smart Opening Symbol in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Architecture Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Configuration: Architecture Architectural Openings flyout
2. If necessary, set a new reference point for the smart symbol to change the position of the smart symbol within the wall opening. To do this, click a side of the opening. When the position suits your needs, click the right mouse button to confirm the reference point.

   Tip: If necessary, increase the reference scale (status bar) to, say, 1:20. This is the scale at which the position of the casement is displayed in plan view. You can also zoom in on the smart symbol in isometric view.
