Delete Section of Linear Component

Module(s): Basic: Walls, Openings, Components + Special: Walls, Openings, Components + Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

You can use the Delete Section of Linear Component tool to remove sections from walls, beams, upstands, strip foundations as well as vertical surfaces and baseboard. Elements inserted in these sections (such as windows, doors, etc.) are also deleted.

To delete a wall section

1. Click Delete Section of Linear Component (How).
   

   Activate Delete Section of Linear Component in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Change Architecture Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   • Palette: Tools Change area in the following module(s):

   Basic: Walls, Openings, Components

   Special: Walls, Openings, Components

   Rooms, Surfaces, Stories

   • Configuration: Architecture Architectural Components flyout
2. Specify the first point of the section to be deleted. To do this, click the element and correct the offset.
3. Specify the end point of the section to be deleted.
4. When the component from which you are removing a section has already been labeled, you can now place new labels for the remaining sections. The Input options include various tools to assist you in this process.
   

   The following additional tools are available In the Input options to assist you when placing labels:

   

   Use this to position the drop-in point.

   SymPnt

   You can use the default drop-in point.

   Ang=

   Use this to switch between a fixed (‘0’) and freely definable (‘?’) drop-in angle. After selecting ?, you can enter the angle after placing the element, or you can click a line and match its angle.
