General Information on Architectural Elements

Tool(s): all architectual elements

The basic principles of 2D drafting and design can also be applied to architectural elements. The approach is essentially the same, the only difference being the third dimension (the height or elevation). Moreover, the elements can be assigned architectural attributes (e.g., building trade, material, computation mode, etc.) as you draw them or later.

Walls, slabs, columns and openings like windows and doors are examples of architectural elements. In addition, there are elements with their own program modules: roofs, rafters and stairs are examples of such elements.

Note: Rooms and finishing surfaces that you define in the Quantity Takeoff module serve as the basis for quantity takeoff operations and further analyses of the building model.
