Creating a gambrel roof frame
Tool(s): Roof Frame
To create the planes for a gambrel roof
- Click Roof Frame (How).
- Enter the outline of the roof as you would a polyline.
- Enter the height of the eaves (relative to the first edge you selected) by clicking on Eaves and entering a value.

Alternatively, click Through Point to set the height of a specific point on the slope. - Click Gambrel Roof.
- Set the parameters for each segment in the Gambrel Roof dialog box.
To add segments, click on Insert Point and then on the segment to be divided into two parts. - Click OK to confirm your entry.
- On the outline of the roof frame, click the edge(s) where you want to apply the pitch.
- When you have created all the roof profiles, press ESC to quit the tool.
Architectural elements delimited by the roof frame and whose heights were defined as reference-plane oriented will adjust automatically to the envelope defined by the frame.
