Creating a gambrel roof frame

Tool(s): Roof Frame

To create the planes for a gambrel roof

1. Click Roof Frame (How).
   

   Activate Roof Frame in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Configuration: Architecture Roofs and Planes flyout
2. Enter the outline of the roof as you would a polyline.
3. Enter the height of the eaves (relative to the first edge you selected) by clicking on Eaves and entering a value.
   or
   Alternatively, click Through Point to set the height of a specific point on the slope.
4. Click Gambrel Roof.
5. Set the parameters for each segment in the Gambrel Roof dialog box.
   To add segments, click on Insert Point and then on the segment to be divided into two parts.
6. Click OK to confirm your entry.
7. On the outline of the roof frame, click the edge(s) where you want to apply the pitch.
8. When you have created all the roof profiles, press ESC to quit the tool.

   Architectural elements delimited by the roof frame and whose heights were defined as reference-plane oriented will adjust automatically to the envelope defined by the frame.
