Creating a barrel roof frame

Tool(s): Roof Frame

To define a barrel roof

1. Click Roof Frame (How).
   

   Activate Roof Frame in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Configuration: Architecture Roofs and Planes flyout
2. Enter the outline of the roof as you would a polyline.
3. Click Barrel Roof and enter parameters.
4. Click OK to confirm your entry.
5. Enter the height of the eaves (relative to the first edge you selected) by clicking on Eaves and entering a value.
6. Click Through Point to set the height of a point through which the slope will pass.

   Note: After you have selected Through Point, the eaves parameter no longer has any effect.

7. Click the two sides of the barrel roof; make sure that they are parallel.
8. When you have created all the roof profiles, press ESC to quit the tool.

   Architectural elements delimited by the roof frame and whose heights were defined as reference-plane oriented will adjust automatically to the envelope defined by the frame.
