Modifying roof frame

You can use this tool to modify roof frames. The roof profiles applied to the roof edges are replaced by new profiles.

To modify a roof frame

1. Click Modify Roof Frame (How).
   

   Activate Modify Roof Frame in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Configuration: Architecture Roofs and Planes flyout
2. Click the roof frame you want to edit.
3. If you want to copy parameters of an existing roof frame to the context toolbar, click Match and then the relevant roof frame.
4. Modify the general height parameters for the roof frame.
5. If you want to modify the roof frame itself, select it and enter the relevant parameters.
   • Gable/hip roof
   • Gable/hip roof using two points
   • Barrel roof
   • Gambrel roof
6. Click the edge(s) of the roof frame to which you want to apply the selected roof profile.
7. You can combine and change the roof profiles (provided the tool is still active).
   To modify the height of the eaves or change the roof profile on one side, for example, repeat steps 4 and 5 before you click the relevant side.

   Note: Click Through Point to set the height of a point through which the roof profile will pass.
   After you have selected Through Point, the Eaves parameter no longer has any effect on the current roof profile and pitch.

8. When you have made all changes, press ESC to quit the tool.

   Architectural elements delimited by the roof frame and whose heights were defined as reference-plane oriented will adjust automatically to the envelope defined by the frame.
