Surface object

You can use the Surface Object tool to create surface objects and assign attributes.

To create a surface object

1. Click Surface Object (How).
   

   Activate Surface Object in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools Object Manager

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Object Manager

2. If you want, you can now modify the parameters and attributes of the surface object.
   Several options are provided on the context toolbar for this.
   

   • Click Properties to set the parameters in a dialog box.
   • Click Match to copy the settings form an existing element.
3. Enter the surface using the polyline entry tools.
4. On the Surface Object Context toolbar, the system will present a series of fields for you to choose from - these define the contents of the label.
   • Click Attributes and select the attributes to be included in the label by enabling the relevant check boxes.
   • Click Toggle to change the text parameters.
   • Click Label Style if you want to use a label style for the label.
5. Click in the workspace to position the label; use the tools in the input options.
   

   In the input options click

   • Horiz
     to place the label so that it is horizontal.
   • Vertic
     to place the label so that it is vertical.
   • Angle
     to place the label at an angle.
   • Auto (not with Component Number)
     to place the label so that it automatically reflects the geometry of the selected component (important for window labels with label styles).
   • Resize (not with Component Number)
     to change the size of the label. Enter a factor in the dialog line.
   • Skip (not with Component Number)
     lets you skip the current element.
   • Go (not with Elevation Point)
     to automatically assign labels to all the selected elements. The start point for the text is positioned in the element’s centroid or, in the case of stairs, at the bottom.
