Defining a Substitute in a Sample

Tool(s): Element for Fit

You can use this tool to replace all intersected elements with another element that has the same size but a different price, for example (also see the example).

To define a substitute within a sample

1. Click Element for Fit (How).
   

   Activate Element for Fit in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools Smart Fit

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Smart Fit

2. Click the Sample tab.
3. Select a rule.
4. Click Define Substitute. The Smart Fit dialog box closes:
5. The sample is attached to the crosshairs with 9 elements or patterns. Place it.
6. In the selection form, select an element or pattern that is to replace elements in the sample.
7. Confirm your selection.
8. Place the element or pattern.

Note: Only elements with the properties Cannot be intersected and Do not place last element may be replaced in this manner.
For example, you can use this to replace all intersected elements with another element that has the same size but a different price.
