Defining elements for fit

Tool(s): Element for Fit

The Default path (\Default\samples) contains the data provided by Nemetschek. Data in this path cannot be modified. You should create a file in a different path – office, private – to save your own, user-defined elements.

To define a new element for fit.

  1. Click Element for Fit (How).
  2. In the Element tab, click Select.

The Path Settings dialog box opens.

  3. Select a folder - private, office - and a file or
    create a new file.
  4. Click OK to confirm the settings.
  5. To enter an element in the list, click again in the Smart Fit dialog box and enter a name (press ENTER to confirm).
  6. The Smart Fit dialog box closes: Draw the outline of the new element.
Enter it using the polyline entry tools.

Note: We recommend that you use the tools in the Draft module to design the elements.

  7. Specify the symbol’s base point.
This is the point at which the element will be attached to the crosshairs later when you place it.

Note: The Default path (\Default\samples) contains the data provided by Nemetschek. Data in this path cannot be modified. Although you can select elements, you cannot change them or modify, save or delete attributes.
If you want to edit the data provided by Nemetschek, open ProjectPilot (File menu) and drag the data to a different path, for example Office or Private. This copies the data. This is only possible if the destination path includes the Smart Fit folder. The Office and Private paths come with this folder. The program automatically creates this folder in a project as soon as you define and save an element.
