Append Geometric Elements to Instance of Smart Symbol

You can use the Append Geometric Elements to Instance of Smart Symbol tool to append elements to an existing instance of a smart symbol. This modification applies to just one instance of the smart symbol (as opposed to Modify Display Parameters, which modifies all the instances of the smart symbol).

Note: The points of the appended elements can be modified separately using Stretch Entities; the original smart symbol, however, can only be modified as a single entity.

To append geometric elements to a smart symbol

• Start by drawing all the elements you want to add to an instance of a smart symbol.

1. Click Append Geometric Elements to Instance of Smart Symbol (How).
   

   Activate Append Geometric Elements to Instance of Smart Symbol in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Bonus Tools Smart Symbols

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Smart Symbols

2. Click the instance of the smart symbol to which you want to append elements.
3. Select the elements (lines etc.).

   The elements are appended to the instance of the smart symbol, and the function will close.
