Rotate 3D Elements

Module(s): 3D Modeling + Tool(s): Rotate

You can use and Rotate 3D Elements to rotate 3D elements by specifying an axis of rotation and an angle. The axis of rotation can lie freely in space and does not have to be in one plane.

To rotate 3D elements

1. Activate the function in one of the following ways:
   • Click Rotate 3D Elements (How).
     

     Activate Rotate 3D Elements in one of the following ways

     • Menu bar: Modify Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

     • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

     3D Modeling

     • Configuration: Design Basic 3D Elements flyout
   • Click Rotate (How) and select Freely in 3D in the input options.
     

     Activate Rotate in one of the following ways

     • Menu bar: Edit

     • Keyboard: SHIFT+CTRL+D

     • Toolbar: Edit
2. Select the elements you want to rotate.
3. Set the first point of the axis of rotation.
4. Set the second point of the axis of rotation.
5. Rotate the elements in one of the following ways:
   • Enter a starting point and direction point.
   • Enter an angle (a positive angle leads to counter-clockwise rotation).
