Removing common volume

Module(s): 3D Modeling

You can use the Remove Common Volume tool to remove the volume common to two solids or the overlapping area of two superimposed 3D surfaces.

Note: The solids retain their properties and attributes.

To remove the common volume of two solids

1. Click Remove Common Volume (How).
   

   Activate Remove Common Volume in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Bonus Tools 3D Modeling

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   3D Modeling

   • Configuration: Design Boolean Solids flyout
2. Click the overlapping solids or 3D surfaces.

   The program immediately produces two subtraction solids/3D surfaces.

   Note: The elements must be of the same type (either solids or 3D surfaces).

   

   (A) Two subtraction solids are created.
