Polyline sweep solids

Module(s): 3D Modeling

You can use the Polyline Sweep Solid tool to create a solid based on a profile and a path.
The path should be continuous and may not include any break or branches. You can also use a 3D surface for the path. The path can be open or closed and does not have to be planar.

To create a polyline sweep solid

  1. Click Polyline Sweep Solid (How).
  2. Select the path for the sweep solid. The path must be continuous and may not include any break or branches. You can also use a 3D surface for the path. The path can be open or closed and does not have to be planar.
  3. Specify the profile. The profile can consist of 3D lines or 3D surfaces. The profile should be more or less perpendicular to the path.
  4. Specify whether the solid is to twist or not.

Note: If parts of the path are vertical, the program cannot correct twists.

Note: The path is deleted when the sweep solid has been created.

A box is added, which makes things a lot clearer.
