You can use the Import NID File tool to import an NID (Nemetschek Internet Document) file. When the file is imported, a new project is created. This is to prevent any data in the current project from being overwritten.
In addition to NID files of versions earlier than Allplan 2015, you can also import NID files of subsequent versions, where data do not need to be converted.
To import an NID (Nemetschek Internet Document) file
Note: The date indicates whether you have included the resources (line types, hatching styles etc.) when you created the NID file.
Import operations are always performed in a new NID project. This is to avoid the risk of data in the current project being overwritten.

The name consequently indicates
If the NID file was already imported previously, you can choose whether the program is to create a new project or whether the existing NID project is to be updated - the second alternative is recommended if updates in the layout make the old version of the layout obsolete.
Tip: You can also import NID files into Allplan by dragging them from Windows Explorer to Allplan’s workspace.
Note: After importing the file, the program will automatically switch to the new project.
