Outputting print files on a computer where Allplan is not installed

To output a print file on a computer where Allplan is not installed

  1. Click Start at the lower border of the viewport, click Control Panel and then select Devices and Printers or Printers and Faxes.
  2. Determine the port of the local printer. Click the printer with the right mouse button, select Printer properties or Properties on the shortcut menu and open the Ports tab.
  3. Go to the command prompt. To do this in Windows, click Start, point to Programs, Accessories and click Command Prompt.
  4. Type copy_/b_<filename>_<port>, e.g.:

    copy_/b_C:\Print\Test01.prn_LPT1 (_ = blank space)

Tip: LPT1 indicates the port. Test01.prn is an example of a name for the print file.
    Pay attention to blanks!

Note: If the printer is connected to a computer on the network, you can enter the UNC name instead of the port (LPT1).
Enter the name of the computer to which the printer is connected in uppercase (e.g. COMPUTER). Then enter the printer’s share name (e.g. printer).

copy_/b_C:\Print\Test01.prn_\\COMPUTER\Printer (_ = blank space)
