Observe the following conventions when entering the name:- You can enter long printer names including blanks and special characters. But some clients do not support long names.
If the network includes different clients, the printer names should consist of a maximum of 31 characters and should not include special characters and blanks. - When you share printers for MS DOS computers, the share name should not be more than eight characters long. You can add a dot and up to three characters. The name must not contain blanks and special characters such as ( / & % $ ! + - \ etc.
The system usually proposes a name that already conforms to DOS conventions.
