The drawing is distorted

Errors and error messages while transferring DXF/DWG files

Problem:

• The drawing is completely distorted.
• New dimension lines have incorrect dimensioning information.
• The DXF log contains the message:
• Dimension texts differ: DXF -> Allplan 0.04 -> 4.00 or different dimension text: DXF -> Allplan 0.10 -> 2.54
• The pens for the drawing are much too thick.
• When the drawing is printed, it is too small or too big.

Cause:

When you imported the file, you set the wrong factor. (Resizing factor in the Options)

Solution:

1. Import the file using a factor of 1.
2. Measure something whose length you know (for instance, a door opening or the thickness of a wall).
3. Based on the value returned by the program, work out the correct factor and import the file again.

Example:

Measured door opening yields:
