Arranging layers on several drawing files when importing

Layers can be arranged on several drawing files when importing.

Note: As you can only have 128 drawing files open simultaneously, importing all the data requires several steps if the import file includes more than 128 layers.

To arrange layers on drawing files when importing

1. Click Import (How) and then Options.
   

   Activate Import in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: File Import

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Interfaces

2. Select the Allplan 2015 specific tab and enable the Documents option in the Arrange layers area. When you check the Layers box, too, you can also arrange the layers of the import file on Allplan layers.
3. Click OK, select the file you wish to import and click Open.
4. In the Import dialog box, click Modify.

   The Configuration for Conversion dialog box opens. You can make assignments in this dialog box.

5. Select the Layers tab.

   All the layers in the import file are displayed. By default, all the layers are assigned to the current drawing file.

6. Select the layers to which you want to assign a drawing file.
7. Click the selection with the right mouse button and select Assign on the shortcut menu.
8. Select the drawing file you wish to assign to the selected layer(s) and click OK to confirm.

   Note: Only empty drawing files are presented for selection.
