New pattern definitions cannot be created when .dxf /.dwg files are imported; patterns can only be assigned to existing Allplan patterns.
When importing .dgn files, you can create new pattern definitions if the Pattern definitions option is enabled in the Interface Options (ODX), Allplan specific tab, Create during import area. This allows you to import patterns from MicroStation to Allplan. However, you cannot overwrite existing pattern definitions. Enable this option, import the file with the patterns and disable the option again. Otherwise, new pattern definitions are created every time you import data.
You can exclude patterns from being imported (Options (ODX) - Advanced Settings – Transfer elements).
