Split Dimension Line

Module(s): Dimension Lines

You can use the Split Dimension Line tool to split a dimension line into several discrete dimension lines. This may be necessary when the design is split into different construction sections.

To split a dimension line

1. Click Split Dimension Line (How).
   

   Activate Split Dimension Line in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Dimension Lines

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Dimension Lines

2. Click the dimension line you want to split.
3. Place a point at which you want to split the dimension line.
   This point can be either on the dimension line or it can be any point (a component edge, for example).
4. Enter the new position of the new dimension line section:
   • To place it at the offset specified in the Dimension Line dialog box, Entry Options tab, click Offset in the Input Options and specify the side.
   • To place it anywhere, click Point in the input options and enter a point through which the dimension line is to pass.
