Modify height spec, additional text

Module(s): Dimension Lines

You can use the Modify Height Spec, Additional Text tool to add, modify or delete the sill height of openings and/or the height specification of foundations as well as additional text displayed in dimension lines.

To modify the height of a component or additional text

1. Click Modify Height Spec, Additional Text (How).
   

   Activate Modify Height Spec, Additional Text in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Modify Dimension Lines

   • Palette: Tools Modify area in the following module(s):

   Dimension Lines

2. On the Context toolbar, define how the component height and/or additional text is to be modified:
   • Retain
     No changes.
   • Delete
     Component height and/or additional text is deleted.
   • Set
     Component height and/or additional text is added or modified using the entries you have made in the right hand part of the Context toolbar.
   • Component height data entry box
     You can enter any value at the keyboard (only numbers; you cannot enter text) or adopt a height from an existing opening/foundation.
     To do this, select and click an opening/foundation in the workspace.
     Note: When you point to an opening or foundation, the (sill) height of this component is displayed. When you click the opening or foundation, the program enters this height in the data entry box.
     Note: In this case, the opening or foundation must have been created with the Basic: Walls, Openings, Components module.
   • Additional text data entry box
     You can enter any text here.
     You can adopt additional text by selecting and clicking another dimension line section.

     Click the dimension line section you want to modify.

     The changes are applied.

3. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make further changes. Otherwise, press ESC or click Close to quit the tool.

Tip: You can insert height specs and additional text later using the options provided by the Entry-based modification of dimension line sections (on the shortcut menu).
