- Click Facade (How).
- Click Object definitions.
- Click a tab and select the category of the new object:
point, linear or face object. - To add a new object, click:
Add object or
Copy object or
Retrieve object
A new object is created and selected.
- To add a new element, click:
Add element or
Copy element or
Retrieve element
A new element is created and selected.
Note: Before you can make the settings described below, you need to create/ retrieve an element.
- Click Type and specify whether to create a point, line or face element.
- Define the cross-section by entering the number of corners in the Polygon with … corners box.
A rectangular outline is created when you enter 4 corners.
For round cross-section, 12-36 corners are enough (depending on the size).
- Enter a meaningful Name for the cross-section.
- Enter the Width and Height of the cross-section in mm.
- If you want to use a custom outline for the cross-section, click Retrieve cross-section and select a closed 2D polyline.
Note: Do not select other elements and make sure that you click one 2D polyline only!
- If necessary, click Rotate cross-section or Mirror cross-section to position the cross-section correctly.
- Define the other geometric parameters by entering values for X offset, Y, Z and Length.
- If you want to use a customized 3D geometry for the element, click Match geometry and click a 3D object.
You need to rotate the 3D geometry so that it is in the correct position before you match it. In other words, a vertical post element must be upright.
Note: Do not select other elements and make sure that you click one 3D object only!
- If necessary, click Rotate cross-section or Mirror cross-section to position the object correctly.
- Click Color and select the color you want to use for the element.
Note: Do not select color 0 (white). Otherwise, the element may not be visible in Allplan!
- Select the Plan display option if the element is to be visible in plan view.
