Creating dimension lines

Creating a dimension line always involves the following steps:

1. Activate a tool for creating dimension lines (e.g. Dimension Line).
2. Define the dimension line type you want to create on the Context toolbar (e.g., Horizontal).
3. Define the position of the dimension line by clicking in the workspace or by clicking an existing dimension line.
   If you click an existing dimension line, the new one is created at the offset specified in the Dimension Line dialog box, Input Options tab.

   

4. Click the points you want to dimension one after the other.
   Make sure that you only click genuine points. The reference points are created on the points you click.

   

5. To actually create the dimension line, press ESC.

   

6. You can then continue as follows:
   • Select a different dimension line type on the Context toolbar (e.g. Vertical) and repeat steps 3 through 5 to draw more dimension lines.
   • Press ESC again to quit the Dimension Line tool.
