Leader

Module(s): Text

You can use Leader to draw a leader from the text to an element in the drawing.

To add a leader

1. Click Leader (How).
   

   Activate Leader in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Text

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   Text

2. Specify whether you want to draw individual lines or a line consisting of several connected sections.
   • Individual lines
     After you have entered the start and end points of a line, you can draw a new line.
   • Connected line sections
     The end of the first line section serves as the start of the following line section.
3. You can apply a symbol to the start and/or end of the line.
   

   Start and end symbols can be applied to various 2D entities.

   • Select a symbol and define its size in millimeters.
   • Select the start symbol and/or end symbol by checking the relevant box(es).
   • You can change this symbol or switch it off at any time while you are drawing

   Tip: When you draw connected line sections, it is advisable to activate the start symbol and to leave the end symbol inactive until you draw the last line section. This way, you can avoid duplicate symbols.

4. Click the text to which the leader is to be added. The text has eight points from which the leader can originate. The point nearest to the one you click is used.
