Special features relevant to using Unicode characters

There are some particular issues to bear in mind when you use Unicode characters in the current Allplan version:

When printing with Allplan vector drivers, generating wireframe models or exporting data, be sure to note the following:

Allplan vector drivers are printer drivers supplied with Allplan and are available for certain devices. To use Allplan vector drivers, you need to define at least one output channel in the Services application.

A printer driver is a program that translates graphical commands into control characters (e.g., HPGL, PostScript) for a particular printer. You can use Windows drivers or Allplan vector drivers (in connection with output channels) as printer drivers in Allplan.

• Characters from the following code pages are output and displayed correctly, regardless of the code page set in the operating system:
  • Code page 1250 (Windows: Central Europe)
  • Code page 1252 (Windows: Western)
  • Code page 1254 (Windows: Turkish)
  • Code page 1251 (Windows: Cyrillic)
  • Code page 1253 (Windows: Greek)
  • Code page 1257 (Windows: Baltic)

All the other characters are displayed and output using a substitute.

• Allplan fonts do not support Unicode.
