Using Unicode characters

Allplan supports Unicode characters (e.g. Chinese characters). Characters that you cannot find on your keyboard can be entered as follows: you can use the Clipboard to place them directly in the workspace or to paste them into the text. You can also import characters from AutoCAD files using Import. In Allplan, you can paste Unicode characters from the Clipboard into other applications or export them to AutoCAD file formats using Export.

Unicode is a coding system (16 bit) for characters. Unicode can display 65536 characters as opposed to ASCII which can only display 256 characters. Unicode provides a unique number between 1 and 65536 for each character (or 0x0000 and 0xFFFF hexadecimal).

You can only use Unicode characters
