Representation in views and sections

Depending on the category to which the components belong (as-built data, demolition, new building), you can display them in architectural sections and views in gray/yellow/red and with the corresponding line types (i.e. as defined for plan view).

It is a good idea to display the slab with a thick line, place it in a separate drawing file or on a separate layer and hide it in plan.

When it comes to calculating hidden line images, you need to make the following settings.

Important settings for displaying building alteration elements in sections and views:

  1. Click Hidden Line Image, Wireframe on the Default toolbar, select Hidden Line Image and click OK.
  2. The Hidden Line Image in Destination Document dialog box opens. Select the Display edges uniformly check box and define the Pen (pen thickness of visible components that are not intersected) as a thin line (0.25 mm or 0.35 mm).

Note: The settings for Line, Color and Layer must not be overwritten as the objects are to retain their original settings (Color and Line in accordance with the category to which they belong; layer as in plan).

  3. In the Special Settings area, click Arch....
  4. The Architectural Hidden Line Image dialog box opens. Clear the Apply thick line around intersected components check box.

Note: The Pen, Line, Color and Layer settings of the intersected components must not be overwritten as the objects are to retain their original settings (Color and Line in accordance with the category to which they belong; Layer as in plan). However, this means that you need to draw the components with a thick line in plan as this line is also used to represent the intersected components in architectural sections.

  5. Click OK to confirm the dialog boxes.
