Pair of custom reference planes consisting of parallel inclined planes

To enter a pair of custom reference planes consisting of parallel inclined planes

1. Click Custom Planes (How).
   

   Activate Custom Planes in one of the following ways

   • Menu bar: Create Architecture General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

   • Palette: Tools Create area in the following module(s):

   General: Roofs, Planes, Sections

2. Click Properties and enter parameters for the custom pair of reference planes.
3. Start by defining the inclined plane:
   • In the Custom Planes dialog box, click Upper plane free or Lower plane free.
   • The inclined plane is created.
     To specify the definition points, click Match in the Definition points area.
     The Custom Planes dialog box closes.
     (If you know the coordinates and the height, you can also enter these values directly.)
   • Enter the definition points of the inclined plane:
     Click three points in plan and enter the height for each point clicked in the dialog line.
     
     Or
     
     Click two points of the same height in plan, enter the plane's angle of inclination in the dialog line and specify the direction of inclination by clicking again.
     
     When you have defined the definition points, the Custom Reference Planes dialog box is displayed again.

     Note: The height of a point can also be taken from existing planes. Click the plane in question.

     Note: When you click a point in isometric view, the height of the point clicked is used.

4. Specify the offset of the other plane to the inclined plane.
   • In the Custom Planes dialog box, click Set component height, plane parallel to the other plane and enter the offset to the other plane.
     Click if the offset is to be interpreted as a value perpendicular to the plane. Otherwise, click (the value is interpreted as a vertical offset).
5. Click OK to confirm the Custom Planes dialog box.

   

   (A) Upper plane
   (B) Lower plane
   (C) Datum level

6. Enter a polygon (as construction points) to define the outline of the pair of reference planes as you would a polyline.

   Architectural elements associated with and delimited by them (in plan) will automatically adjust to the new heights imposed by the planes. (This does not apply to elements whose heights were defined as absolute values.)
