Creating new opening in a wall of the as-built category

You want to insert a new opening (door, window etc.) in a wall of the as-built category.

Important steps

1. Select the drawing file for the new building elements and open the drawing file with the as-built and demolition data in edit mode.

   Note: Openings are automatically inserted in the associated wall, regardless of whether the drawing file with the wall is current or open in edit mode.

2. Insert the new building opening in a wall of the as-built category.

   Each new component automatically gets the New building category.

   To use the components in the building alteration wizards, do the following:

   • Find a suitable component in one of the building alteration wizards.
   • Double-click the component with the right mouse button.
     
     Or
     
     Click the component with the right mouse button and, on the shortcut menu, click Match.

     This opens the tool that was used to create the component and takes all the parameters from the wizard.

3. Click Demolition Object, New Building Object.
4. Click Properties and define the parameters of the new building object in one of the following ways:
   • Set parameters for the element in the Demolition Object, New Building Object for Openings in Existing Walls dialog box.
   • Click to reset all the parameters to their defaults.
   • Click Match parameters and match the parameters of a suitable element in one of the building alteration wizards.
5. Select the new building openings and click Apply.

   Allplan automatically creates the demolition object of the correct geometry and height association in the wall. In addition, the object gets the format properties and attributes specified.
